Corpus Christi, TX asked in Employment Law for Texas

Q: Employment Law Question - Should I have lost all my accrued PTO hours when company decided to switch to Flex PT0?

I've worked for the same company 27 years and still do.

In year 25 or 26 I moved from CA to TX and shortly after the company switched from traditional PTO benefits to Flex PTO,

For most employees it did not have any affect on them. The company took the amount of PTO hours and put those aside for payout to the employee when they depart the company. (CA Law)

Then essentially on the FLex PTO there is no longer an accrued PTO number,

As I now live in TX, TX does not have that same provision so they just wiped out my PTO Hours,

They only gave us 2 weeks notice prior to the Flex PTO being implemented. As we have to schedule our time in advance and it was busy season I had no time to use them. They just wiped out my hours.

As those were actual benefits and hours I worked for can they just wipe them out? Are there any previous rulings on the topic? In this case 150 hours equals roughly $8653.84 gross pay, I inquired and they dont seem to be willing to address
