Q: X offered free board if I bought a horse and let X use it. X lied about owning the stable. Can I sue for fraud?
X's horse died and X made me an amazing offer (on video) that if I bought a horse they liked and allowed them use of my horse that I could have free board for that horse for as long as I wished. I only had to pay for food, farrier and vet care. X had a specific horse in mind they wanted and pushed me to get that horse (after rejecting all the ones I wanted). Unfortunately that horse ended up needed multiple surgeries the 1st week I got him. It turned out this horse wasn't at all what they imagined and eventually they told me to take my horse and go. I had only purchased a horse because I was promised free board for that horse for as long as I wanted. I'm now stuck paying about $800+ per month to care for a horse I feel like I was conned into. It turned out X never owned the stable like they claimed and blamed their father (the true property owner) for deciding I had to leave. What they did to me and this horse is unforgivable in my mind. Should I sue them for fraudulent inducement?
