Q: I was a small business owner and I am being sued over a workers compensation audit. Can you help me please?
I owned a company that only had one job for that paid approximately $11k, which my company only received about $1,200. After an insurance audit I received a bill for over #3k. I disputed the audit, turned over all the requested information to Travelers insurance company and later received a bill for over $5k. I attempted to dispute that audit findings as well. After several back and forth emails and phone conversations, the auditor stop replying to my calls and emails. Months later I received a bill from Hartsfords Insurance for over $80k. I called to question and dispute the bill. I was put back in touch with Travelers insurance. After so many call went unanswered the communication stopped on both ends. Now I am being sued for this $80k. I need an attorney that can help me. Can you assist, please? I have court this week Thursday Nov. 7, 2024. I have had no luck searching for an attorney to represent me.
