Q: My school has installed Linewize Connect on their provided laptops that we pay for. Is it legal?
Linewize has been taken up by my school, and they have told us about what it does. It takes screenshots of our screen every 10 seconds and scans everything we do, teachers are also allowed to view our screens or emails at any time, this is all if we are on certain internet networks. Me and several others believe that this is a massive invasion of privacy, we have tried to talk to teachers about it, but they brushed us off. All of us have private conversations and issues that we talk to other people about on there. They have blocked tons of websites and are planning on pushing our parents to get it on our home devices too. Everyone is becoming very stressed and unhappy because of this.
Is it allowed? I have tried to check other websites but they have blocked all of them, and I also think it's better to get advice from someone reliable.
