Bridgewater, NJ asked in Contracts and Business Law for New Jersey

Q: Hello - I am owner of Staffing company. My question is regarding a 3 year service contract signed with Monster.com.

We signed a contract for 3 years from September 2022 to September 2025 paid monthly for 36 months. However, we do not see enough new job applicants coming on their portal and even quality of job applicants has gone down. We are not getting any value from the service. When we contacted them that we would like to discontinue their services, they informed us that we are liable to pay them for 36 months and contract / agreement doesn't have any performance clause. We stopped using and paying their services after 24 months and gave them written notice that we would like to discontinue the services. They are threatening our company with legal action and refusing to cancel services and asking us to pay for full 12 months left in contract. I am seeking an advise on this Business to Business agreement.
