East Brunswick, NJ asked in Divorce and Family Law for New Jersey

Q: How does a person deal with an ex and co-parent who constantly threatens legal action and calls for police on you?

If I don’t answer her texts she sends cops for a wellness check. If I do answer and the response isn’t what she wants to hear she says I’m harassing her, calls the cops to make a report. She continues to send me messages after reporting I’m harassing her which I reply to and then says I am harassing her. There’s nothing regarding domestic violence from me to her but she was arrested and charged with DV on me, I dropped the charges in the past. She has also taken out a harrassment restraining order on me in the past and during the case continued to try to contact me, when I didn’t reply, contacted my family to contact me and tell her I was ok. She texted me if I signed the MSA she would drop the harassment law suit. She lost the case. She sent a message today I replied. She didn’t like my response. She responded stating I am harassing her, to stop contacting her unless I am contacting her for these listed reasons. What can I do about this legally? She is harassing me and misusing police

A: Maybe its time to retain a family law specialist and let the attorney file an application with the court to address your claims of her on going bad actions and ask the court for relief. It seems that your efforts to resolve the parenting time conflict with her is not working.
