Q: I may have an action against a county in hawaii. I relied on all recorded documents on the property.

All documents recorded showed the property to be a 6 bed 3 bath home inspected and approved certificate of occupancy issued.2015 A second inspection 2023passed and was approved and equivalent of certificate of occupancy was issued. Also a letter from the head of the planning dept confirmed the inspection, approval. And added that N0 violations exist on the property. State of Hawaiibureau of conveyances 6 bed 3 bath 3000 sq ft. county serves a violation from2015 two months after I purchased the property. 2023. The violation was not recorded or in any documents in the county. They also failed to serve the 4 different previous owners They require me to lose3 bed 1 bath apartment 1700 sq ft a loss of income of $3800 month $45,600year lose of value on property 1.3M

Cost to remove apartment to satisfy county

$98,000 + labor attorneys fees zAIA fees

I need to sue the county to cover my loss from their multiple errors. $2 M + treble damages and attorneys fees
