Cranston, RI asked in Landlord - Tenant for Rhode Island

Q: My landlord is showing up harassing me over unpaid rent is that legal?

I didn't pay for November b/c there has been a noise issue that I've been trying to get her to fix, but she hasn't answered me since October. It's so loud I can't sleep. She texted me 2x yesterday to say she noticed I hadn't paid. Today she was waiting for me to wake up. As soon as I turned on my lights she was watching from outside, and she started banging on my door and saying “I can see you," "I can hear you," “I sent you multiple messages yesterday you didn't answer.” She also started blowing up my phone with calls. I answered one and said you haven’t answered me about noise since October. She just ignored that and asked if I'm paying rent, she's here to collect rent, etc. I told her this should be an email. She continued to stand outside, reiterating her questions. I recorded a video because I thought this was harassment. I didn't say anything else since she seemed unhinged and she eventually left. I feel unsafe now especially if I leave the apartment with my cat alone.
