Q: Should I list the governing agency on the summons and complaint? Should I add on to the complaint?
I am currently in litigation. The judge ordered leave to refile the motion to amend, denied the motion for summary judgment, and ordered that I accept the defendant's late answer. I filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court against my now ex-landlord; they were not when I filed. Some points weren't on the initial complaint that one of the defendants addressed in their affirmation. I need to amend the summons and complaint to add a defendant. The property management company manages properties listed under LLC. names, I was under the belief these were properties they owned and built. According to Bizapedia, they are governed by the New York Department of State. I am unclear if I should add this name as well, I do not want to miss anyone or anything and be dismissed or denied.
