Q: My son who has documented diagnosis of ADHD and dmdd was kicked off his 7th grade football team for disability
Related behaviors which they said were ongoing issues. Despite being in constant contact with his coach I was never once informed of any of these issues until the day he was dismissed from the team. I then tried explaining his situation and was immediately informed regardless they would be upholding their decison. The next day an email came out from the athletic director reminding parents if your student was dismissed or no longer eligible you would still be required to pay the pay to participate fee even tho it was the beginning of the season and the fee wasn’t even due yet. He is on a 504 plan has previously been on an iep and has been on medications for years due to these diagnosis and the school is well informed on all of it.
