Q: I was racially profiled and I need to know if I have a claim
Yesterday we were doing Instacart shopping my husband and I. We had to use the bathroom before we paid so we headed towards the bathroom when we were stopped by an employee who told us to leave our cart by the register when I asked her why we had to leave our cart and no one else did, she said it was store policy. I am African-American, but there were so many Caucasian people who were bringing their carts down to the end of the hallway and parking them by the bathroom. I asked another worker and he said we can park our car by the bathroom. Then I went back to ask her why she said that and she said it was a new store policy. This bothered me so much that I finished up my Instacart orders and left the store and called a manager. The manager told me that no such policy existed. We were racially profiled, and I’m already on edge in the city. I live in because I am minority. I don’t want to go outside anymore and this is taking a toll on my mental health
