Enumclaw, WA asked in Employment Law for Washington

Q: I have 21 years of continual insurance company employment in the state of WA (Farmers 15 yrs & AmFam 6 yrs)

I am being told that because my current employer re-branded from American Family Insurance to AFICS - AMERICAN FAMILY INSURANCE CLAIMS SERVICES (a servicing company, or parent company to all our subsidiary insurance companies i.e. American Family. The General, Homesite, MSA, Connect etc.) that I am required to get my WA State Adjusters license, which required me to first get my AIC Designation. On the WA State DOI it states in order to obtain a waiver for this requirement you just have to be a salaried employee of an insurance company for 12 consecutive months. I have severe test anxiety and fear I will not pass this WA State Exam and may lose my job. The WA State DOI could not provide a definitive answer to my manager as to why I don't qualify simply because we became AFICS. Please help! I am a single Mom of 3 teens and have 2 homes. I am afraid I will lose my whole career and do not believe they are applying the waiver (or non-waiver) to my situation correctly.
