Houston, TX asked in Contracts, Collections and Energy, Oil and Gas for Texas

Q: I need a TX contingency lawyer who has oil/gas contract experience. Buyer won't pay $ 251K invoices.

My co is here in Houston. The buyer was from CO but he had it shipped to a location he rents in Midland, TX. He issued a signed PO to my company. We warned the buyer (in writing before shipment) and three more times over several weeks to keep it inside out of heat. Finally, when he shipped it to his customer, that customer tested it and rejected it. Now our customer (in CO) refuses to pay the bill $251K. My boss initially did not want to sue the buyer because of upfront legal costs and time frame. I told my boss I would try to find a lawyer on contingency that has oil/gas contract experience because my boss thought it would take years in court. The buyer in CO has assets (company in existence 2011), owns some oil wells, etc.
