Q: Which lawyer is able to handle false accusations and international travel issues?

I have been falsely accused of an abduction (I am not sure which state it was accused from). And it has been 2 years now. I get stopped every time I use my passport going through customs. I haven’t gone through court or any legal matter regarding this abduction. No paper work or anything. How can I get this fixed? Who do I talk to? I get stopped every time I go outside my country and especially coming back to my country. I get questioned every time by customs, for a crime I have never done. I just need to get it out the system that says on my passport that I kidnapped somebody. Who do I talk with to get that fixed? What can I do?

A: We can prepare a request to The Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s files (the Commission, or the CCF) about the presence of information in the Interpol information system regarding you, as well as about the deletion of information from their system.

A: You deserve legal advice from an attorney with experience in both immigration and criminal defense. They can examine all available records and determine whether there’s an active warrant or any official note in the system.

You can also request your travel and criminal history from the relevant agencies to see what’s causing the flag at customs. If there’s a mistaken entry, your attorney can help you seek a formal correction or expungement from the authorities.

This process may involve communicating with federal agencies and possibly filing petitions in court. You have the right to defend yourself against untrue accusations and clear your name.
