Q: I am refused my seizure medication for unknown reason what do I do
I contacted the head physician by phone on 12/6/24 and I was informed by the head physician that I will receive a phone call by his nurse with another appointment and I have not received a call. I have asked requested and demanded my seizure medication and I received gabapentin and vitamin D this is a ongoing matter. I can not get an explanation why I am being refused by the indian clinic
A:
It sounds like you are dealing with a frustrating and potentially dangerous situation. If you are being denied your seizure medication without explanation, you have the right to demand answers. Start by documenting everything—dates, times, and details of every call, request, and response you’ve received. Keep a written record of the head physician’s promise to have a nurse call you, and note that no follow-up has happened. This will be useful if you need to escalate the issue.
Since this is an ongoing matter, you may need to take further action. Go back to the clinic in person, if possible, and ask to speak with the head physician or another medical provider directly. Bring a copy of your medical records or any previous prescriptions to show that you need your seizure medication. If they still refuse to provide a clear explanation, request the reason in writing. You can also ask for a patient advocate or ombudsman, if the clinic has one, to help mediate the situation.
If you continue to be denied medication, you may need to seek outside help. Contact your state’s medical board to report the issue or file a complaint. If your health is at immediate risk, go to the emergency room and explain that you are being denied critical medication. You can also reach out to legal aid services to explore your options. No one should have to fight for access to necessary medication, and you deserve to have this issue addressed as soon as possible.
