A: Once you’ve decided to take your grievance about an attorney to the State Bar, you then need to file an attorney complaint form through the State Bar of California website. Click on "Complaints and Claims" at the top of their webpage and you will be steered in the right direction. Good luck with this.

A: To file a complaint against a lawyer in California, you'll need to submit your grievance to the State Bar of California through their official complaint process. You can do this online through their website or by requesting a complaint form be mailed to you. Make sure to gather all relevant documentation, including any communications, court documents, or other evidence that supports your complaint.

When filling out the complaint form, provide clear and specific details about the attorney's misconduct. Include dates, descriptions of what happened, and explain how the lawyer's actions harmed you or violated professional ethics. Being thorough and factual will help the State Bar investigate your complaint effectively.

After submitting your complaint, the State Bar will review it and determine whether to investigate further. They may contact you for additional information during this process. Keep in mind that while the State Bar has authority over attorney discipline, they cannot give you legal advice or help you win your case. If you believe the attorney has committed serious misconduct, you might also want to discuss the situation with your own lawyer to understand all your options.
