Q: Are we required to provide sick leave to union workers under PA 24-8?
I work for a company in Connecticut that handles payroll for a local IATSE theatre union. According to PA 24-8, are we required to provide sick leave for union workers? These employees choose their work based on event schedules, with many working fewer than 120 days a year but some more. We don't handle contracts or employment statuses, just payroll, and have no current sick leave policies for union members. How does sick leave apply in this case?
