Q: Was my vehicle wrongfully towed without notice in Portland, Oregon?
I was towed without any notice while parked in a resident-only parking lot at an apartment complex in Portland, Oregon. I was assisting a tenant who was moving out after receiving an eviction notice. There were no communications or signs about needing a parking permit or specific restrictions. The property owner did not provide a 72-hour notice before towing, and my vehicle was not blocking any access or creating a safety hazard. I did not receive any documentation post-tow, but I recently purchased the car and have the clear title, so any notice may have been sent to the previous registered owner. Is the property owner required to provide a notice before towing in such cases?
