Q: Falsely accused of online libel via anonymous Twitter account; next steps?
I am being falsely accused of online libel involving an anonymous Twitter account, which I did not create or own. The accuser insists it's my account despite both the lack of evidence on their side and the fact that I've presented proof of my non-involvement. I spoke on behalf of someone else about the accuser's harmful behavior but deleted the tweets when that person no longer felt comfortable sharing the information. The accuser briefly communicated with me after I responded to their accusations but then ceased contact. The incidents were from over a year ago, and the accuser has only now contacted law enforcement, as shown in their tweets. I have kept screenshots of interactions proving both my non-involvement and their harmful behavior. My Twitter account uses an alias without personal information, preventing them from contacting me outside of Twitter. What actions should I take in this situation?
