The "statute of limitations" or the amount of time in which you are able to file a claim varies from state-to-state. In Washington state, there is a three year period in which an injured person has the right to sue.

If it is negligent, it should offer whatever it has that will make you whole in regard to your reasonably foreseeable damages.
