Was the "information regarding the child's criminal matter" disclosed by the child or by the parent? Was it incriminating information?

Q: If someone graduated from law school and passed the bar exam, but are not practicing are they considered to be a lawyer?

Or must they be practicing to be classified as a "lawyer".

Q: My attorney "withdrew" as my attorney two days before a hearing. Can I file a complaint with the bar association?

Hearings can usually be adjourned. I guess you could file a complaint. But more importantly, you need to hire another lawyer, if possible.

Was the former husband's claim one for loss of consortium? Was any of the settlement amount for that claim? You need to speak with the attorney who settled the claim for the details . Chances are the settlement was only on the wife's injury claim.

You need to determine if your case has been lost due to missed deadlines. If so, call the state bar your attorney was a member of and ask if they have a client security fund to reimburse you. If the case has not been lost yet, obviously the answer is to immediately hire a new attorney.
