Personal injury cases do take some time. I tell my clients that we like to get cases resolved, if possible, within 12 months. Some settle sooner than that and some take a long time. Yes there are many steps you should take before you file a lawsuit. You need to get to a doctor. You may need physical therapy and/or an MRI depending on your injuries. Q: I sued someone for injuries I got in a car accident (they were at fault).

I've decided I don't want to deal with this case anymore. Is there a way to just drop it now, or do I have to see it through to the end?

You can always settle your case and dismiss the lawsuit. Do you have an attorney? If so, talk to him or her about settling and dismissing.
