Maryland Heights, MO asked in Immigration Law for Maryland

Q: do I have a chance to get my citizenship if my husband refuses to provide a copy of his passport?

hello, I got married to an American citizen and got my green card since august 26 2011. now I wanted to apply for a citizenship but my husband and I are splitting. although we are still married, he started shitting on me so now he doesn't want to give me his documents to apply for my citizenship. it's 3 years and 7 months now that I am a green card holder. I want my US PASSPORT asap because I can't have my country's passport since I once apply for asylum. I want to travel to Europe to study next year, but I don't know how I can leave since I have no passport. Do you think If I apply for a citizenship without my husband passport copy I have a chance to be accepted? I have 3 past years taxes file jointly with my husband. but this year we will file separately. what should I do?

A: You can get your case approved without your husband's help. However if your application is denied, you will be placed into removal proceedings. I have handled several cases in this situation -please obtain an attorney. It will be money well spent.
