Rosemead, CA asked in Employment Law for California

Q: Would I have a strong case to sue Walmart?

I have been physically and verbally bullied by employees for 1 year. From judging and criticizing, abusive anger, to threatening. Told Management but nothing changed. Around my 4th-6th month at Walmart was Physically Harassed on camera by the second employee that would harass me. Management saw the footage when i reported it but never did anything about it. Quitted about a month ago do to the fact that i felt a lot of emotional damage by it all and just didn't feel safe anymore. I was stressed, mad, scared, depressed, every horrible emotion a person could feel because i couldn't understand why that was happening and management did nothing to protect me and make me feel safe at work. I feel that everything that happened was just so unfair that it led to having ME quit my job when thats the money that i would sustain myself with and they get to keep their job and have no kind of punishment.

A: Some harassment is not illegal, but physical abuse would usually be too much. Best to find a local employment law attorney and sit down with them to discuss the facts to learn if you have a case. Most offer free consultations, that way you can see if you have a good case with no cost.
