Q: Background checks on family members?
My brother is filling out an application to become an officer. It wants him to list immediate family members and there address. Does this mean background check. If so, don't I have to approve it since I was never convicted of a felony or misdemeanor, or any crime? Also if I listed my address does that mean all my roommates will be checked also, won't that also infringe on there rights or right to privacy? I don't understand why a job would need so my information. I work in a healthcare setting and all they care about is me, myself, and I. My job is just as important as an officer.Lives are just as much as my hands as they are to theres. I don't think it's fair to do background checks like this.
