Q: How can I request to appoint minor counsel for my son? What do I file?

When I've had to get minor's counsel appointed, I've just asked the judge for it. I looked just now and there does not appear to me to be an obvious request form other than the generic FL-300 form.
It is best to reach an agreement with the other parent on appointing a minor's counsel. You'll need to fill out a bunch of financial information as well in order to pay the minor's counsel. If you can't pay, the court has to pay the minor's counsel.
A: Making the request in the request for order and a declaration about the circumstances surrounding the child custody issues would give the judge information that would be considered in determining whether the court appoints minor's counsel.
