Asked in Consumer Law, Copyright, Foreclosure and Real Estate Law for New York

Q: Can I copy and use this data for my New York Real Estate website?

UPDATE:

Just trying to understand. If I can take the data from the nassau county website, why can't I take it from the other websites as it's all public data other than houses for sale by owner?

I have a website for real estate. I would like it to have the latest deals available for homes in the area.

Like displayed in the following sites:

http://www.zillow.com/nassau-county-ny/foreclosures/

http://www.zillow.com/nassau-county-fl/foreclosures/

From these websites I cant take the data I know that much. Im trying to figure out where they get the data from.

This is where our local county posts its foreclosures:

Can I take this data and place it on my website?

A: The data from the county is public domain, from the private companies you're not on very good footing from a legal standpoint.
