Vallejo, CA asked in Civil Litigation, Libel & Slander, Communications Law and Internet Law for California

Q: I am one of the victims of an IMBD troll (who is the reason IMBD just closed its cashcow message boards for good.

This man "doxed" users, mainly women, from IMBD message boards, then hounded their family and friends with faked pornographic photos, etc...

I begged IMBD for help but got nothing, although other women had it worse than I did (my husband knew the photos he sent of me having sex with another man were fake). Of course after it happened to me, I changed my name and only went on the site occasionally, and always, as before to talk about movies. I am a fan, have a BA in Broadcasting and like talking about movies with people that love them like I do.

Peoples lives were ruined. IMBD and Amazon did not do enough to protect users from this jerk.

IMBD finally just shut the message boards down.

A: I don't hear a question here. You want to sue IMDB for the violations of its users? See: https://www.eff.org/issues/cda230
