Q: Father-in-law ex-girlfriend illegally/scammed transferred title of trailer home to her name and now & trying to sell
Together since July 2016. He met her, retired & moved into the trailer home, he rent the land in advance he is the primary &she is listed as an occupant. He and her name was on the home purchase but he purchased with his retirement bonus- it's his forever retirement home
For the last few months they've not had the best of relationship. Its gotten violent he was afraid for himself. She threatened to have him killed so he grabbed some items then went to his sisters. He Tried to file a restraining order but was denied due to lack of evidence. His nephew is a police officer was consulted when the incidents occurred. He was Ready to go back to his home, but she transferred the title over to her name solely. She still live there, on his rented land. He is unsure but believe xfer happened Nov 2016 she told him to sign finalization paperwork, but it was to xfer the title. DMV records show xfer when it was paid in full. There is not a simple answer to this situation. From the facts stated in your question the girlfriend will not agree to sign the trailer back over to your father in law.
Your father in law needs to speak hire a. Attorney to see if a legal action can be brought against her if only he paid for the trailer. It is a problem that your father in law put the trailer in both names originally but it may be something that can be worked around with the assistance of a real estate attorney.
