Hayward, CA asked in Animal / Dog Law, Family Law and Civil Rights for California

Q: My son got bit by my roommates dog and we got animal services involved and they opened a case but

it seems like it's starting to back fire on us because they took the dog for a short time but are returning him tomorrow on the 22nd and the officer from animal control is saying that if our son is still at our old dwelling place then they will get cps involved. So my question is...if we are still moving all of our stuff out (we actually just got a storage unit today) and we are already moved into my girls parents house but we still have some of our belongings at the old place would cps still be able to get involved?? Let me know if all this makes any sense and if not then I'll try to put it in better terms.

A: Without knowing the specific details of you matter, if your son isn't in the presence of the dog, then there should be no reason for CPS to be involved, assuming that is the only reason that CPS was threatened in the first place.
