Q: I have abusive relationships to me from my mother and stepfather. Can I work and live separate? I'm 18.

I'm 18 years old. My mom and I got a green card through the marriage. I've been living in California since they married. Relationsguos between us are very bad.My mother and stepfather force me to go back to my country to my father and threaten to me that only they can let me live in America and I'm nothing without then and I can't come to USA. ( we renewed our first green card and waiting for second one around 6 months, so my first green card expired but my status tells that it works for one year from expiring and I can travel in and out a country). So, my question is: Is it possible that they take away my green card and status in America? Can I live separate and become independent from stepfather? I ve spend three years I don't know how to change my life and go back ...

A: If you're 18, I see no reason why you have to live with them. Consult with an immigration lawyer. This answer does not constitute legal advice; make any predictions, guarantees, or warranties; or create any Attorney-Client relationship.
