Long Beach, CA asked in Libel & Slander, Personal Injury, Family Law and Civil Litigation for California

Q: Can I make a combined complaint for intentional infliction of emotional distress And defamation ? Who can prepare this?

My ex-girlfriend's partner has been harassing me online with increasing frequency for the past four months, culminating in public defamatory statements on all of my videos accusing me of being a stalker, a menace to any woman's daughter, and a "danger". He did this on multiple videos where I am trying to license products to various companies. The judge would no uphold a restraining order against him, despite his admitting his harassment. He has caused me and my mother enormous mental and emotional distress, and potentially damaged my ability to license my products. Can I combine these two complaints into one cause of action, or do they need to be filed separately? Who can do this for me? I don't have much money.

A: You may want to sue for defamation. You can seek resources at your local law library. More details are necessary to provide a professional analysis of your issue. The best first step is an Initial Consultation with an Attorney such as myself.
