Q: I was held under false imprisonment by my employer, then someone unlocked the door for me to escape do I have a case?
I was fired from the club I worked out for making a customer unhappy and I was told to give the club back all the money I had made that night, I refused and told them that was unlawful. When trying to leave I was physically stopped and took down a back hall to leave out the back door which the manager had locked and refused to let me out. I try to get around him to go to a different part of the club to escape and was being physically stopped from doing so. After 5-10 minutes of trying to get around my manager and screaming for him not to touch me another worker runs back and unlocks the door for me to leave. I didn’t call the police because I’m safe now and no longer being detained. I didn’t do anything illegal at all. I was pushed up against a wall trying to escape and I do have a red mark on my arm from it and bruises on my knees from try to push my way into the wall and around the man. I am a 19 year old female. Can I sue the club management for this?
