Dayton, OH asked in Banking, Contracts and Bankruptcy for Ohio

Q: I gave my car back to the bank.

I had recently applied for a new car loan. I wanted to roll my remaining loan over onto to new loan. My dealer at Ford told me my car was listed in a bankruptcy. About 4 years ago I had filed for a chapter 7 but we never went through with it and it was dismissed. I explained this to the dealer. He wouldn’t except my old car which I still owed 5,500 on. He said there also was no reports of any payments reported to places like TransUnion or any one else.My car does not show up on any credit reports. He said to stop making payments on it and eventually the bank will come and get it which they did. I did buy another car from this dealer. Well my bank which the old loan was financed through said they were selling my car at a auction and I will be responsible for the rest. Having a nervous breakdown here. My new dealer assured me not to worry about the old loan but now I’m stuck with two loans that I can’t afford. Any suggestions?
