The answer to your question depends on how much you are making as a driver. If you make less than the minimum earnings allowed to get benefits then you would qualify. While before the Covid crisis independent contractors did not qualify for UI benefits, the qualifications changed in March/April of this year and you now can apply as an independent contractor.
