Q: I am a us citizen I have been with an illegal immigrant for over 10 years we wanted to get legally married dont know how
He came here over 20 years ago no papers and I want to marry legally and he wants to become a us citizen is this possible and how do you do it?
A: A US citizen can sponsor an illegal alien spouse who entered the country legally for a green card despite the 20 year overstay. However if the alien entered the USA illegally then you can still sponsor him after marriage but you will need to file a waiver of inadmissibility to overcome the illegal entry.
