Q: How do I indicate a predetermined agreement to split payments for a loan on the Property Agreement of a divorce?
My ex-partner and I are filing for a divorce of our Domestic Partnership in California. We have to do this instead of dissolution because of one loan we share of $13,000. We have already been splitting monthly payments of this loan directly in half for over a year (I send him my half of the payment via Cash App every month and he pays the bill). The Property Agreement form does not give the option to indicate our current agreement. I do not want to award the debt to one party or the other individually. How do I indicate this in my divorce papers?
