Q: Should mattress company be responsible for pulling out a fairly new mattress from my home if it is releasing fiberglass?
Purchased California King mattress from Nectar late summer. Felt sharp pricking on my body as early as 1st week sleeping in this mattress. Thought it was bed bugs, but no signs of bed bug bites on my body. Recently, followed instructions on the company's website on how to clean pee off their mattress. Also moved this mattress to lay it on it's side to air dry it properly. After this, I noticed several "sparkly" dust and some shiny hair thin particles on my clothes. This same day, I also noticed the same shiny particles when I washed my cal king beddings (my son had peed in the bed). Found the same shiny particles all over the mattress. I have videos and photos. Same day, I also started coughing and currently still feel like I swallowed several small fishbones now stuck in my throat. 2nd day, coughing worse and had burning sensation in my chest when breathing. Mattress company insists on leaving it to me to get rid of it, w/c would further expose me and further contaminate my home.
A: There could be some lawsuits regarding your situation. Sit down with a personal injury lawyer to see what options you might have. And good job documenting everything.
