Q: Can a flower shop business whichv isn't registered, no permit, no resell license, and is now selling from from her house

This lady buys flowers from local markets or supermarkets and makes flower pieces for funerals and resales them for a higher price out of her house and she's got social media advertising her illegal flower shop. There's a local "Florist" who I purchased flowers pieces for my relatives funeral and it was about $700 dollars and this lady has a business flower shop that started at a commercial property and she ended up closing down due to her lack of income and she's now working out of her house in a residential zone; however, come to find out she doesn't have any licenses for a florist she's not permitted but yet she's selling to the community and locally and she did not follow through on the order for my relatives funeral. is there anything that I can do to get my money back from this illegal florist.

A: Her license or lack of license is separate and apart from whether or not your relatives can recover from her. If they paid for a product and didn't receive the product (assuming it was under $10,000) they can sue her in small claims to recover the money.

A: File a small claims action to recover your money. Don't worry so much about her license, you can report her to the City business license office but it is there call from there.
