Q: A semi smashed into our new 43 ft 5th wheel causing extreme damages while we were parked overnight at a Pilot Truck stop
Progressive hired an attorney ASAP because I'm an investigator & told them I knew insurance tactics. The adjuster had already low balled the damages. The 5th Wheel is under warranty & parts are in short supply. Nobody was hurt in the accident except my daughter is having nightmares because we were sleeping at the truck stop inside. No personal injury attorneys want our case. Demand registered mail was sent to the lawyer, her firm, Progressive CEO, trucking Company, owner of trucking company. It's been going on from October 13, 3021 until current. The lawyer knows we are living in the RV which is a Hazzard due to the damages, yet will not put us into a living situation that the RV can be fixed. The wait for repairs for a Keystone collision repair shop is booked for months & we can't afford to rent a home, pay RV payments & wait. The damages is a total, yet the lawyer only wants to use what the adjuster advised. We have children & this situation is a nightmare with nobody willing to help
A: A Texas attorney could advise best, but your question remains open for three weeks. I'm sorry for the stressful situation this accident has placed your family in. Unfortunately, as you have seen from your efforts, it is difficult to retain an attorney on a contingency basis when there are no injuries. Due to the high cost of accident litigation, the pool of attorneys that handle solely property damages is far smaller than those interested in handling injury cases. If you haven't already done so, you could look into the resources of the State Bar of Texas. Additionally, there is a link above, Find-a-Lawyer. Good luck
A: Sorry to hear that no PI lawyers are willing to take your case. I started to provide legal information, but realized that it's unclear where the incident happened. Did this happen in PA or in TX?
