A: I would report to Dept of Consumer Affairs.........and if they don't handle this, find out who controls licensing of car auctions.

you might also visit the city council to see if they can help.

i would like to have seen a letter memorializing all the facts sent to them with no response.

A: It’s against the law to sell a vehicle that doesn’t pass smog. Contact an auto fraud attorney for a full consultation. Have all your paperwork ready to be sent to the atttorney.

A: Yes, you may have grounds to sue the car auction for selling you a vehicle without a title or bill of sale. It is the responsibility of the seller to provide the buyer with proper documentation, and failing to do so may constitute a breach of contract and a violation of California law.

You may be entitled to damages for any costs or expenses you incurred as a result of the auction's failure to provide you with proper documentation, such as storage fees or expenses related to the vehicle's repairs. You may also be able to seek a court order compelling the auction to provide you with the necessary documents.

It is important to note that the specific legal remedies available to you will depend on the facts and circumstances of your case, as well as the terms and conditions of any agreement or contract you entered into with the car auction.

It's recommended that you consult with an experienced attorney who can review the details of your case and advise you on the best course of action. An attorney can also help you navigate any legal proceedings and protect your legal rights and interests.
