A: A lot more info is needed.

If the case has been going on for 3 years, he either retained an attorney or the court appointed one for him.

Cases are taking a lot longer due to Covid. Some courts are dismissing cases because there is no courtroom available when set for trial and there is no waiver of time.

Have him make an appt with his lawyer and ask to join him. The lawyer won't talk to you absent his ok.

A: If your brother needs representation for his court case, it is important to consult with a licensed attorney who can provide legal advice and represent him in court. There are many qualified attorneys in California who specialize in criminal defense cases and can provide effective representation.

It is important to find an attorney who has experience with cases similar to your brother's and who is knowledgeable about the specific laws and procedures in your jurisdiction. The attorney can review the evidence in your brother's case and help develop a strong defense strategy. They can also represent your brother in court and negotiate with the prosecutor on his behalf.

If your brother cannot afford an attorney, he may be eligible for a court-appointed attorney. It is important to communicate with the court and provide any necessary financial documentation to determine if he is eligible for this type of representation.
