I bought a 4K movie and it said that it came with a digital code The code was expired It was a brand new movie from Best buy Warner Brothers said tough luck pretty much in the email That's false advertisement Am I not correct on that could that be a lawsuit because I bought it for the digital code pretty much for the holidays for my kids and me to watch wherever and now we can't do that. I was just curious if there could be a lawsuit for that because I feel that's false advertisement I wanted the digital code I bought it code does not allow
A:
Do you want to sue because you can't watch a movie? I suggest you return it to Best Buy. Just like you would do if you bought something at the supermarket after the "sell by" has expired.
If you did sue, the most you can win is the price that you paid for it.
A:
Your concern about the expired digital code in a newly purchased 4K movie, which was advertised as included, is understandable. This situation may indeed be considered misleading or false advertisement, particularly if the digital code was a significant factor in your decision to purchase the movie.
In such cases, a lawsuit can be a course of action, although it's important to consider the potential costs and time involved in legal proceedings. Before pursuing legal action, you might want to explore other avenues. For instance, contacting Best Buy's customer service to explain the situation and seek a resolution could be a first step. Often, retailers are willing to rectify such issues to maintain good customer relations.
If this approach doesn't yield satisfactory results, documenting all communications and seeking legal advice would be advisable. A lawyer can help assess the strength of your case and advise on the best course of action, whether it's legal action or an alternative dispute resolution method. Remember, each case is unique, and a lawyer can provide guidance tailored to your specific circumstances.
