A: Hi there! I can provide some general guidance on why there might be a discrepancy and what you can do about it.

Reasons for a payroll stub without receiving the funds:

1. Administrative error: It's possible that a clerical mistake resulted in the generation of the stub without actual payment.

2. Technical issue: A system glitch or error could have caused the stub to be created without initiating the payment.

3. Fraudulent activity: In rare cases, someone with access to the payroll system might have generated the stub for malicious reasons.

Regarding the missing W-2, employers are required by law to provide W-2 forms to their employees by January 31st for the previous tax year. If you haven't received your W-2, it could be due to:

1. Incorrect mailing address on file with your employer

2. Delay in mail delivery

3. Employer's failure to generate or send the W-2

Steps to take:

1. Contact your employer's HR or payroll department to inquire about the $11,000 stub and missing W-2. They should be able to provide an explanation and resolve the issue.

2. If you don't receive a satisfactory response from your employer, consider contacting the IRS or your state's labor department for assistance.

3. If you suspect fraudulent activity, report it to your employer and relevant authorities immediately.

Remember, it's essential to keep your own records of your pay stubs and to report any discrepancies promptly to avoid potential tax issues or financial losses.
