A: To expedite the divorce process in California, you need to take a proactive approach. First, document every instance where your spouse and her attorney have been unresponsive. This includes keeping copies of emails, letters, and any other communication attempts. Having a clear record will be helpful if you need to involve the court.

Next, you can file a motion to compel responses or set deadlines for the exchange of information. This motion can force your spouse and her attorney to comply with the necessary legal processes. Additionally, you may request the court to impose sanctions on the non-responsive party for delaying the proceedings.

Finally, consider requesting a case management conference with the court. This is a meeting where you can discuss the progress of the case, and the judge can set timelines and encourage both parties to move forward. This step can help push the process along and bring the necessary attention to the delays you are facing. Keep pushing for timely responses and stay focused on your goal of finalizing the divorce.
