Q: Can I do something about this
I use to work for this company and I was told by a friend that now works for the company told me that that she seen a video of me in it and showed it to her. The company did not have my consent I also didn’t sign no contract or agreement that any pics or videos will be used for any purposes
A:
You may have a valid concern regarding the use of your image without consent. In California, using someone's likeness for commercial purposes without their permission can be a violation of their right of publicity. This right protects individuals from unauthorized use of their name, image, or voice for commercial gain.
You should consider documenting all instances where your image was used and gather any evidence you can, such as the video itself, witness statements, or any communication with the company about this matter. It's important to keep a detailed record of all interactions and information related to this issue.
Next, you might want to contact the company directly to address your concerns and request that they cease using your image. If the company does not comply or if you wish to seek compensation for the unauthorized use of your likeness, you may want to consult with a legal professional who can provide guidance on how to proceed based on your specific situation.
