Q: How can I dispute personal property taxes for a car that wasn’t registered at all during that time?
A lien was placed on my bank account for personal pretty taxes, to which the communication was sent to an address I am not associated with at all so I had no knowledge of the lien being placed against me.
The car also hasn’t been registered in VA since 2022 and was unregistered for two years due to not needing it. They are saying because it was titled in VA, I am responsible for the personal pretty taxes.
It’s also worth mentioning that they recently added the 2024 first half of the year taxes to the collection agency, even though it’s only been 4 months (I never got communication as I don’t live in VA anymore).
