Q: Do I need to get two separate lawyers to work my daughter's case?
We lost my 1-month-old grand-daughter on August 3rd. My daughter woke up to find the baby wasn’t breathing. DHS opened a case and removed my 2-year-old grand-daughter from my parents’ home, where my daughter was staying, that same day. She had left the girls’ father a couple weeks earlier and got a protective order against him because he was being abusive toward the 2-year-old. We are desperately trying to get my oldest grand-daughter back with her momma, but the case is stalling. DHS hasn’t been out to the house in over a month. The grounds child welfare gave for removing her were a case of my dad’s Corona they found in his closet and mental health meds that were left in my daughter’s bottles. She has a letter from her OG/GYN stating that he took her off her meds prior to her delivery. We are waiting for blood tests to come back to the sheriff's office to prove that she isn't an alcoholic and was not under the influence. We need to get some help navigating through this horrible mess.
