Q: California CNA renewal do i need to lawyer up or just write down the truth?
Hello, I’m in a crisis and need help. I became a CNA in California 2 years ago, but I misunderstood the renewal process. Earlier this year, I realized I was short on the required hours. I was referred to a woman who offered to handle my CEUs for a fee. After delays, she eventually submitted my renewal, but she falsely listed my hours from a job I never worked at, claiming it was her usual method. In July, I tried other CEU programs, but they refused since my form was already submitted. My certificate expired when her form was not approved. I reported the inaccurate form to CDPH, hoping they’d withdraw it, but it was escalated. I’ve since retested and regained my skills certification, but now I’m under investigation. Friends advise me to avoid a lawyer and just explain what happened, but I’m worried and fear losing my job since I've been on leave of absence for about 3 months now.
