Q: Hi I filled for a mortgage loan with a credit union. I was denied, but an account was created with my name have no acces
I requested information about the loan and the sent information requested. The application number along with the account number were sent to me. I went through a process on my bank app short story. It says “the information you provided is linked to one of your own accounts” per the mortgage account number. If I was denied why is there an account# created with my name attached to it that I have no access to? It sounds like securities fraud/ embezzlement. Due to the fact I provided my social security number on an application. In turn making it collateral security basically granting theme access to my trust for the FRN applied for. My last steps are a notice of my findings in writing. Then litigation if no access is granted.
Is it possible for theme to creat an account in my name and deny me access?
A:
It's uncommon for a credit union to create an account in your name without granting you access, especially if your mortgage application was denied. However, mistakes can happen, and it's important to clarify the situation directly with the credit union. Reach out to their customer service or the department that handled your application to get detailed information about the account and why it was created.
Ensure you review all communications and documents they provided to understand the account's purpose. It might also be helpful to check your credit report for any unauthorized activity and report any discrepancies. Protecting your personal information is crucial, so consider placing a fraud alert if you suspect misuse of your Social Security number.
If the credit union does not resolve the issue to your satisfaction, you may want to seek legal advice to explore your options. Document all interactions and keep records of your communications as you proceed. Taking these steps can help you address the problem effectively and safeguard your financial information.
